Diaper Shower?
We visited some friends this weekend, who have twins, I can't even imagine. Anyhow my friend asked me if I was going to have a "Diaper Shower" for the next baby, and I immediately said oh no, not a fan of anything revolving or focused on me. I didn't have a bridal shower, a real baby shower with Elsa and I think having a baby shower for your second or third kids is not necessary and it's just, I don't know, lame. You should have everything you need, like the swing, and bouncer, stroller etc. and it's really just a cry for more attention. I'm weird I guess, I don't like all the attention on me at least with a baby it's "us" and I can have Jonas involved. But anyhow, I did some thinking and I know I need some things for this new baby, not big things, so maybe the idea of a "diaper shower" is kind of fun. So I went on Amazon and thought about the things I have in a list in my head and picked the items out and actually made a registry. It's so different this time around it's so not as exciting. I know what I want to use, which bottles, nipples and diapers. So I put it all down, I think I'm going to have 2 diapering stations so a second diaper genie is good, especially since Elsa won't be potty trained yet. So yeah, I think I have everything I need on that list then, and it amounts to around 10 things, lol, diapers, wipes, bottles, nipples, etc..boring. I think if I can push my Dr to deliver 37w6d or 38w which is August 19th or 20th, then maybe we can have a BBQ/Diaper Shower on my birthday the 17th of August, which is 3 days before and people can bring stuff "IF THEY WANT" but totally not necessary. I definitely do NOT need clothes either.
Ok so this week was busy, not too much to report. It's Monday and I'm tired, as usual, Elsa is finally going down for a nap so I can take one too. It's supposed to be 85 degrees today so I imagine we will be out playing in the water today, perhaps I'll even take Elsa to the water fountains at Stafford Park.
A week from today we will be flying to Maui, I can't wait, even just a 5 hour flight with no child sounds like fun!

Professional Photos
So we hired a local photographer and we finally are done with that, and got our pictures. I'm not going to post them all, just a few. Other than that things are going relatively well! I decided to clean and put away all formula dispensers, and anything associated with bottles, sterilizing etc which took up a bit of room and made a mess, and hid them, for at least 4 months! I get my kitchen counters back for 4 months and it is so calming to me to be able to look at clean kitchen counters, I hate clutter. But since I'm not even going to go there with breastfeeding this next child, because I really don't think it's worth it, no desire to do it and yes I have a doctor who is super cool with it, that just means back to bottles and formula in about 4 months exactly.
Wow, 4 months and we will have ourselves another little doodle! I have my big ultrasound next week, hopefully everything is ok. I think I am feeling this one move every now and then. I know Elsa was super active in all the ultrasounds I had but I never felt it until she got bigger.
Music class started again this morning, huge class, but as we learned from last time, somebody is always missing at every class. I have to miss next week and then 2 weeks after than when we are in Hawaii although I am trying to convince my Mom to take Elsa that time. But my neighbor and her daughter got into our class which is awesome because they are so nice, and I want to have friends that are close! We were chatting about getting our hair done and I realized it's been 3 months since I have gone, and I have obvious roots, and she said just bring Elsa over if you need me to watch her. I was like OMG, OMG, amazing! So I invited their family over Saturday for some bagels and coffee play date for the girls, so we could meet the husbands. I also went to a play group last week and met a Mom who has a 1 yr old son, Parker, and they just bought a short sale house like 3 blocks away that I walk by every night with Coco. So another neighbor, yay! I see Moms I know in the super market, and at classes and restaurants it's great, I'm starting to feel like I have a bit more of a community.
Speaking of community, I am a published Blogger for Patch news haha. It's a local enewspaper deal. I blogged about the non profit I am President of and that we really need volunteers. You can read it here

A minute
When I find more than one minute, I will give a more exciting update. For now you'll have to settle for a spaghetti picture or two of our Swedish Princess!

18 weeks
So one would think that by 18 weeks all first trimester symptoms would disappear? Well no, as I sit here nauseas as hell, I remember that I also felt this crappy Saturday. It comes and goes, some days I'm fine and I have tons of energy and some days just yuck yuck yuck! Oh well, that's part of the deal right? Yes so we found out we are having another girl. Out of my random poll knowing 10(but really more) Moms of whom 5 had boys and 5 had girls as their first children. So far 8 are having boys, 1 unknown til birth and we are having a girl. But in total I think it's like 14 are having or just gave birth to a boy including the 2 in Denmark. I really think that sucks for the boys, they are going to have so much competition for sports teams and dates for prom because you know those are the only important things we need to worry about. haha...it just seems that around here there is going to be a lot more boys in this girls class than girls but who knows til we cross that bridge. We will most likely do private school so they usually keep the classes pretty even.
Elsa is the cutest little doodle on the block and just growing like a weed. She completely understands us, no doubt. This is where the Baby Sign Language DVD's come in SO SO handy! She uses them all the time now, I ask her to show me a sign when we can't understand each other. The other day she kept pointing at the counter where I keep the fruit, and I finally figured out she was signing banana, then today she kind of hit me with a toy a little too hard and I said Elsa that hurts and she did the sign for "hurt." I was blown away. I guess leaving the video playing over and over and over while she plays and kind of watches at the same time has really worked. We met a neighbor the other day, her name is Vera, she turns 2 in August. Her Mom stopped me one night as I walked Coco to the park because she grew up with Dalmatians too and her parents just got a new one. Anyhow we had our first play date the other day, and boy is this little girl just full of life like Elsa. It was fun to watch them scream and play in the water table but Vera also does some sign language, it was very cool.
So we are on a 2 week break right now from music class but I signed us up for another session of Mo' Music and we are going to start a little one's intro to Gymnastics on Friday mornings at the community center and then the month of July is all about the pool! I imagine that will feel good on my aching body at that point.
Here we are in April already, it should be a swift moving month ending with our trip to Maui, I can't wait! Then May is here and my Aunt and Uncle from DK will be here for a few weeks, then it's off to Yosemite with the YSC, and then it's June already. There are many things going on then and well I just like to stay busy, and before we know it little Tova Tegnerud will be here! Almost every day I drive near or by Kaiser RWC because it's so damn close to where we live and when I think about what will happen when I'm up there. I don't have any anxiety about the impending c section. I guess it's because I know what to expect. I guess it's also because this is baby #2 and we know what to expect when we get her home, but at the same time every baby is different and we will have Elsa vying for attention too. It's all about sleep, getting sleep those first 3 months is tough, then it's about sleep training and once that is down then it kind of get's easier until they walk....
Anyhow I hope you all had a Happy Easter and welcome Spring!
