Update..so busy

So I hope you all enjoyed that picture of Elsa's poop. She eats pretty much any solids we give her, seems to like anything we give her except avocado, she's not sure about that, so her poop varies in color, consistency and frequency. But that is why good diapers are key. I am not happy with Pampers overnight diapers btw. They suck. I bought a pack of Huggies overnighters, they are much much better. In fact I'm starting to think that Elsa is better off in Huggies overall instead of the Pampers now, but as my Mom said, "I have never found a diaper that doesn't leak." So, I'll just keep on with what we've got.

The update I really wanted to give you is that I am still going strong with her clothes, not needing to wash anything(except pj's) but getting down to the bottom of the drawers. Here is what I have found;

1. I have a million tops and not enough pants.
2. I want solid tops to go with the crazy pants
3. I need solid pants to go with the crazy tops
4. I love black leggings/pants, they go with everything.
5. Just One You by Carters for target runs small
6. Regular Carters run slightly bigger
7. Costco has Organic footed zipper onsies that I mentioned before and because we need them for our off the charts in length baby, I went and bought a few more, but the 12 month size is just perfect now...seriously, next size up in 12-18 in that brand.
8. Most of what I have left to dress her in are cute summer rompers and dress type tops with bloomers, and it hasn't been that hot! Come on CA give me so warmer weather so I can use these clothes.
9. I have a huge bag of clothes I'm donating to a friend of friend having a girl. I'm giving away everything with snaps and buttons because they are a pain in the ass. Amanda gave me the best advice, buy things with zippers!
10. I'm over the snap at the crotch shirts, going forward its all tops and pants...so much easier!
11. Next baby even if a boy is going to wear some of this stuff because I feel like I've wasted so much money on baby clothes!
12. At this point since I am giving her solids at least 2x and sometimes 3x a day, I can't have enough bibs!

So we had Elsa's 6 month check up she is doing fantastic. When I take her to the store I get mauled by old women, other Moms, employees always asking me about her, telling me what a good baby she is, and how cute she is. I feel very blessed to be her Mom, she is special girl and I just love her to death. She is pretty good about naps and sleeping through the night as well, so that makes our whole household pretty copacetic.

I've been working with Bobbi Brown more lately, I cannot even describe to you how much I love doing make up and helping women who want to be helped. I have had 6 of my friends come in to see me, and one old English teacher that still teaches at my high school. What a trip to be teaching her instead of her teaching me! When I work I don't think about Elsa, I know she is safe and happy with her Papa. Working gives me time to be me, chat with old coworkers and have some fun. It would be nice if there was onsite daycare at some of the stores I work at so then I could work more, but I'm not paying for a babysitter. If my Mom can't or won't do it then I just won't work.

August is a super busy month for us. the first weekend I am going to LA to meet up with my best friend Amy(the one who lives in Philadelphia) sans Elsa who is staying home with Papa. Amy is flying me down with her miles(amazing!) and she is flying in early Friday the 3rd because the next week she has a work meeting in the area. So we get to tromp around, shop, dine, chat and catch up for 3 days and I get 2 nights/mornings of sleeping in! It's also her birthday weekend.

The following weekend is a kind of engagement party for some friends of ours.

The 17th is my actual birthday and we are having a bunch of friends over for a BBQ the 18th. Jonas and I love hosting parties so I am looking forward to it.

Then that following week and weekend I am off to Reno for a girls weekend with my Mom, Elsa and some family from the South! So Jonas gets to enjoy some time off and I think he's going to go camping and take photos.

Then it's a baby shower for our friends having twin boys, the following Labor day weekend.

Then we are leading the Big Basin camping trip for the Scandinavians club, then off to Denmark and Sweden! I am exhausted just thinking about the next 8 weeks!

Diaper

This is what happens when Jonas changes the diaper, doesn't pay attention and puts a night diaper on during the day and doesn't pull it up or put it on tight enough so it all comes out. Jonas fails.

new challenge

I have way too many outfits for Elsa, way too many. So I have a challenge with myself which is to not do her laundry until I have dressed her in every last item in her drawers! (in her size of course because yes I have future bought up to 24 months!<---crazy shopaholic!) I want to see how long it will last. The only thing I'm already low on is footed pajamas, I only have 5 of those, I could have bought a bunch more today of Organic zippered footed onsies but they are 9.99 each, kind of expensive for Costco. The other thing is I have $100 of Gymbucks for Gymboree that I can use starting the 16th of this month I believe. So I can get $200 dollars worth of baby clothes for only $100. WHAT AM I POSSIBLY GOING TO BUY?? Amanda, Betcy, Libby ...any Mom, I'm taking orders tell me what you want! hahaha...

Next thing; I am very very close to deleting my Facebook account.  I just tried to go down my friends list and eliminate people but I either see them occasionally and don't want to have to explain why we are suddenly not friends, or regret that I deleted them and have to "refriend" them again. I think I have to be all or nothing on this one.  I'll keep this blog and have considered making it private since it is mainly for family and friends not anybody that you would apply an "ex" in front of ...wife, friend, boss, coworker..etc..but that require logging in and I don't think the family members would understand if I changed it and they had to log in every time they wanted to read up on our life.

The first thing I am going to "x" my Facebook app off my iPhone....and done no more check ins, and instant photo uploads...and maybe just unsubscribe from pretty much everybody's status updates to see how I feel, especially anybody who "like" being Liberal, Moveon.org and Obama...good bye

Sleep with Morning Update

First of all wow! It's July 1st already, and I've got an almost 6 month old with 3 teeth, 2 on the way, almost- crawling, babbling, giggling, big smiles, super social baby girl that makes my heart melt with love and adoration! However in the never ending quest for a whole night of sleep has yet to become a reality over here. She has slept one night from 7-5:30am and now it's bed by 6:30-7pm up between 12-1am then up again at 4-5am and she chugs a 6oz bottle at both wakings. I am guessing it's because she is teething and perhaps going through yet another growth spurt!?? Feedback would be great here, and I know things are always changing but do I need to sleep train again to get her to go down to only one bottle a night or should I just wait it out?

Another change is that She whines and whines and WHINES every time I put her down for a nap or bed!? It is taking her much longer now sometimes up to 20 minutes to finally settle into a sleeping position. Is this due to the fact that she might start crawling soon? Because she is starting to sit up? Teething pain? I took these pictures tonight to display her ability to move all over her crib! It's cute though she has very strong legs that's for sure!
pic 1- she is on the move
Pic 2- She loves her stomach

Pic 3- rolled over to her sun bathing position
Pic 4- back to the Face Plant position
5- Why we have a breathable bumper,
***UPDATE IN THE MORNING***
I love getting her up in the morning. Last night she actually went back to her old sleep routine only waking once at 2am, yay! But here she is on the complete other end of crib. Then when she hears my voice she starts kicking with excitement and then I get the big sleepy grin!
I get her up because I hear her talking to herself

Then she hears me and starts to kick and lift her head and look around!

and then I get the big morning smile (heart melting)
