New Date

Remember I wrote that my c section had been moved up a whopping 24 hours? Well, I had an appt with my Dr today and she got on the phone with the scheduler and were able to be the second csection on August 16th! So around 11am not 7am. This is good, safer, for us, and the sooner I can get this baby out the better!

The other good news is I didn't gain any weight in the last 4 weeks. Which means total gain is 14lbs.  I think the reason why is two fold. One, I've been really busy, yes that old annoying saying " I forgot to eat," yeah I've done that a few times. Also it's more important to me to rest/nap than eat. Two, my stomach is smooshed by this uterus so not much room for food. That's why I think I'd be a successful lap band candidate!

But we are really getting excited to meet our little girl! We have 2 old Viking names picked out, and we will decide in the hospital. I'm so tired so I think it's about that time to get to bed!

3 Weeks

I am finally taking the time to download my camera photos. All the pictures that have been uploaded to the Blog or Facebook are from my iPhone. It just goes to show you the point and click camera is really getting phased out. Anyhow I thought I would share a few here.

Anyhow, it's Sunday, lazy day at home, especially after our fun night at our friends house last night! Elsa stayed up til 11pm! She had so much fun playing with our friends 2 girls and we had fun with the parents of course. They cooked a nice meal for us and the Mom is now a Stella and Dot rep, and I bought stuff. Like I ever get dressed up and wear fun jewelry, but I REALLY REALLY WANT TO! I will just live by the mantra, "if I have it, the events will come!" lol....

I am so looking forward to meeting this baby! And you know getting through the first few months. I wonder how much or how little she will be like Elsa. Well the adventure will begin 3 weeks from tomorrow. Geesh, time flies!

Ocean Beach, SF

Santa Cruz Boardwalk

She's gone

Astrid is now safe and sound back in good ole Denmark. It was fun having her here and I now know she really likes it here! I promised her the next time she comes to visit I won't be pregnant! Here are some pictures from the last few days.

As for me well 3 weeks from Monday is the day! I can't wait, I'm so tired dragging this baby around, the pains, the never ending exhaustion... Over it!

Go Giants

We took Astrid to a Giants game last night , and I think it has been the highlight of her trip! I also think she likes the American way of life. Yesterday she got a mani pedi and the we both went to a blow dry bar to get our hair washed and styled, which for me was great because I haven't actually fully blow dried my hair in what feels like months! She really like it though. I also had her get her eyebrows waxed for the first time, she did not like the waxing part but I think she liked the end result! I think she is really seeing the difference in lifestyle, in Dk women aren't high maintenance, they don't have these inexpensive luxuries! And now that she has a sample of it I think she'll be back for more haha.

As for me, it's been a lot of running around, walking and being active, sans naps and it's all hitting me today. I am exhausted and nauseous. I feel bad canceling our plans to take her to a water park but I have to remember I'm 34 weeks pregnant! She leaves Thursday. So Tuesday I ha e a babysitter lined up so I can take her back up to the city to Chinatown and the Union square, not sure about tomorrow, and Wednesday may e an outlet mall the dinner at my parenT's for her last night. Whirlwind trip for her but I think she's had a good time !?

A Week in Review

So Astrid's first week here has been full of sightseeing and just getting to know each other. It's been fun! Today we went to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, it's been a long time since I've been there, hasn't changed very much. We lucked out the fog backed off pretty quick and we all got some sun. Elsa rode on her first ride with her Daddy and played on the beach for the first time, of course she loved it!

Tomorrow, we are headed to Rnow with my Mom. We will check out Virginia City and Lake Tahoe, maybe get some swimming in, and for me, having my Mom there means babysitter! Next Saturday we have a Giants Game to go to,  and we'll figure out the rest of days. For now I will just leave you with a bunch of photos, because I am so tired my brain isn't functioning very well right now!

6 weeks from Today!

After my OB appointment 4 weeks ago I did a lot of thinking, and being safe even if little sister has little issues at birth like Elsa did, is ok to make sure that my uterus doesn't rupture thus putting me and the baby a BIG risks. So I talked to my OB this last week at my appt and we decided to move the date up more into the 37th week, so the scheduler called me today, and we moved it to, ummm Monday August 19th, a whopping 24 hours sooner. I would think if there was such a big risk there would be more dates available like the 15th or 16th, but no. My Dr is "on vacation" the 16th and is in the OR on the 15th.  I think I might email her on this. But for now the 19th it is. The finish line is in sight. I can do this, of course I can. Nevermind that the groin pain is back and the sciatica that shoots darts of sharp pain down my butt cheeks graces me with it's presence almost daily. Then there is just the fatigue. BUT we are going to have another little doodle! As Jonas says, its going to be hard in the beginning but so rewarding. I agree. But again with bottle feeding and a PT babysitter I'm not too worried.

My 2nd cousin Astrid is here visiting us. It was super last minute. My Aunt sends me an email saying "would you like to have Astrid come to help you with Elsa and the dog?" I'm thinking sweet, sure send her on over. Well a week later and here she is. She was 2 hours from landing when an Asiana plane pilot decided to crash land at SFO, thus sending her SAS plane to Sacramento for a few hours until they reopened and could come back. DRAMA. We were all spent on Saturday. Sunday we took her to see the view from my brothers house, and then over to Half Moon Bay for lunch. Nothing too exciting but I am sitting here wondering what I can do to entertain an almost 17 year old that I barely know. She is a soft spoken girl and as far as I know because she told me, she has no babysitting experience, and has never changed a diaper. She can however watch Elsa a bit while I'm doing other things. So I have some of our days filled up with things to do, and while I would prefer to just rest at home and take it easy, I feel guilty if I don't show her the area, I mean she's never been to CA and it's kind of a big deal. We have a Giants game scheduled in a few weeks that will be FUN. I mean as I write this she is watching the Giants play with Jonas so I think she might enjoy the excitement of the stadium.

Well, that's about it, oh I bet you're wondering what name we are on to this week... well the name "Astrid" is holding strong in first place, and Astrid says she would love it if we named her that, it means beautiful goddess. I still love Dagny but Jonas and I have to agree on something and I won't bully him into it.  So Astrid is the only name as of right now, Annika is still a solid choice too, and we might even be back to Tova, but still got 6 weeks left to figure it out! hah

It's so HOT!!

I hate this heat, especially this pregnant! Luckily this past weekend with a little team work we have been able to pretty much finish up baby#2 room/guest room/Jonas's nonexistent office! We can still keep our queen bed in here, a pack n play, drawers, changing table etc. it's funny to watch the transformation of this room. First it was our bedroom, then we built the wall and Birgitta stayed here and now #2!

In a few days though Astrid will be here so she can stay in here for now. Hopefully in wont be 100 degrees for a week at a time!

So we still haven't figure out the name, we thought we had it there for a few weeks but it has fallen out of favor. The one name I truly love, Dagny, Jonas refuses to even consider. I think its beautiful, elegant and classic old Norse and a hell of a lot better than Wilma!??? Jonas still likes that. Anyhow about 6 more weeks to figure it out!
